Thank you for writing for me! I’ve included some thoughts below on my preferences and fandoms, however these are suggestions and not requirements in any way (although I’d prefer if you didn’t delve into my DNWs). I’ve given some specific prompts, but feel to take a general theme from my general likes if that’s more inspiring!

I'm not active on LJ/Dreamwidth anymore, although you're welcome to poke around here. I'm slightly active on tumblr and you can also check out my pinboard. I'm on ao3 as partypaprika.

For Candy Hearts Exchange, I’ve requested Gossip Girl – Dan/Blair, Warchild – Jos Musey/Evan D’Silva, Burnt - Tony Balerdi/Reece Montgomery and Hikaru no Go - Shindou Hikaru/Touya Akira.

Warchild – Karin Lowachee
Jos Musey/Evan D’Silva

I read Warchild last year and was absolutely completely engrossed by how complicated the relationship is between Jos and Evan and how it grows through the book. They are connected by their childhoods and the aftermath of the pirate attack on their ship, even though they’ve been through wildly different experiences during the long period that they were separated. They also have such incredibly different reactions to meeting again and I’m fascinated by how Evan sticks to Jos even when Jos gives Evan nothing to go on.

I know that they both have a lot of trauma and that Jos struggles so much with forming any kind of relationship, but as much as he’s able, he cares deeply about Evan. The moment in Warchild, where they’re in the infirmary and he reaches out to hold Evan’s hand? That was huge for me.

I really love the connection and how Evan is determined to stay with Jos. I’d love to see Jos returning some of that and making Even feel like he is also wanted. Especially in a way that’s more than what Evan’s body can do because Evan so clearly feels like that is so much of his worth to people.

I'd love to see an exploration of how Jos and Evan handle future developments with the war and conflict between Hub, Earth and striviirc-na. Does the opportunity for peace come (and do they continue to serve on Cairo's ship or settle down somewhere)? Does Jos take Evan to Aaian'na?

I'd also love to see a look at them later on in life--what do things look for them ten or twenty years down the line? Maybe they've gone their separate ways but reconnect, both needing and missing the other.

I would love to see more of Jos and Evan being together, in whatever way you see Jos able to be with Evan. I’m open to anything at the level that we get in canon or as explicit as you’d like (barring any of my DNWs). I've read Under the Silence, so you're totally fine to include that as canon or leave it out completely. If you do include it, I'd love for you to find a way to not break Ryan's heart and would be open to either Ryan/Jos/Evan or Ryan and Jos mutually agreeing that they're in different places.

 

Gossip Girl
Dan Humphrey/Blair Waldorf

I've been into this pairing since that episode in season one where Dan shared the story about his mother leaving with Blair after the photoshoot debacle with Eleanor and Serena. I love how Dan was the only person to really see Blair, for better and worse, for who she truly was. And I loved their slow relationship evolution: from mutual disgust to situational allies to friends and then close confidants.

I love the fact that Dan is so much more mellow and chill (generally) than incredibly high maintenance Blair and he just takes her and her craziness in stride. I’d love to see that explored—how does Dan calm Blair down for a big event or something really important? I’d also love to see Blair looking out for Dan, protecting him, maybe in a way that he just doesn’t get (and that almost goes over his head). Just a moment between them where one is protecting the other would be great.

Canon also ended with them not together so I’d love to either see them further down the line getting together (or back together) or a canon divergent AU where they hadn’t yet gotten together and ultimately do end up together. This could also be played with Blair seeing Dan after not being in contact for quite a while and then seeing him and realizing that she totally has a thing for Humphrey. I’d love to see a story where Blair goes through the mental struggle of realizing that she is actually into Dan.

I'd also love to look at them in an alternate universe--maybe something with magic where Blair is part of the old magic families of Manhattan and Dan is breaking into the scene as a talented but unknown magician. Or a royalty AU--maybe flipping their normal statuses where Dan's the laid back royal and Blair is the snooty commoner. Maybe a look at what they would have been like in the 1920s. Maybe everything is the same as it is now except arranged marriages are a thing and Blair's family desperately needs to save face so they arrange a marriage between her and Dan (or an arranged marriage set in the gilded age)?

I love to see them working together, against the world. Maybe one of them has been framed for something and the other is the only person willing to help them/believe in them.

I would be very into seeing a secret identity take on their relationship. I also think that there’s so many identity porn ways that you can go with this where one or both of them is using a secret identity (especially with the whole Gossip Girl presence, although you can use any kind of secret identity that you like!) and falling in love through that secret identity. (I love identity porn)

I also love them being friends (or maybe starting out as enemies again) and having to work together or being friends and there being hardcore pining between them. Maybe they start hooking up (or maybe they’re hooking up with other people) and think that they’re on different pages (but they’re not!).

Hikaru no Go
Shindou Hikaru/Touya Akira

I love everything about Hikaru no Go and Hikaru and Akira. I love how much history they’ve shared and how o b s e s s e d they are with each other and go. I love how they (mis)communicate but also are there for each other when they really need the other one. I love how they’re each a champion for the other and they care so freaking much about each other.

I have this vision of some rumor going out about either Akira or Hikaru and the other character is like…I know the perfect solution! We will pretend to have been dating to definitely prove that such thing didn’t happen. Or someone assumes that they’re dating and if they deny it, it’ll look worse (or like one of the characters dumped the other one), so they pretend to date to save face. And then…hijinks!

I'd also love to see them continuing to chase each other through go. How do they handle the world of professional go and their relationship as they get more established? Or, maybe, they handle go just fine and it's just all the personal stuff that is in crisis for them. "Oh no, my mom keeps asking me when I'm going to get married," Hikaru grumbles and Akira then takes it as a challenge.

They are so obsessed and loyal to each other—I would absolutely love to see that explored more, especially if one of them self-sacrifices themself to try and protect the other.

I also love the idea of them connecting romantically online—maybe on a go forum? Or some other type of online situation where they’re interacting and just completely connecting (and then both of them are feeling guilty because they also have feelings for the other in real life).

Lastly, I am definitely down for angst with a happy ending for these two—they both have so much baggage. Does Hikaru have to reveal his secret about Sai to Akira in a way that leaves both of them hurting? Do they finally hook-up but think that the other person isn’t that into them? Does one of them date other people thinking that the other isn’t into them, and everyone that they date is a stand-in for the other? I'd also love more of a look at Sai and how Hikaru is still working through his grief about Sai and how that intersects with his relationship with Akira.

Burnt
Reece Montgomery/Tony Balerdi

I really love Tony in this movie and believe he deserves so much more than the frustrating hand that he's been dealt. I also love that Tony and Reece have a complicated history, in which Adam has played no small part, and that there's blame on both sides that could be laid.

I would love to see their paths cross--maybe Tony seeks out Reece for a project or they keep running into each other at fine dining occasions or colleagues' events.  Are they asked to professionally collaborate and sparks fly? Do they connect over texts or emails or maybe the two of them arguing back on an internet forum for culinary professionals?

Do they have a romantic history? Did they maybe hook up back when they were all working together, but Tony was clearly into Adam and so it dramatically (or not-dramatically) didn't work out?

I would also be very interested in looking at AUs--maybe something set in a regency or Victorian era universe. An arranged marriage? (Now or set in the past?) Or maybe they're thrust into a position where they have to enter a marriage of convenience because of reasons and they both struggle with their feelings for each other.

I love angst with a happy ending, so also feel free to really dig into Tony's unrequited crush on Adam (and maybe how painful it is for him to think that he now has an unrequited crush on Reece or Reece's longstanding unrequited crush on Tony).
