meme time!

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like. (Make sure you tell me if you want questions when you comment, because if you don't specify, I'm assuming you don't want any!)
2. I'll respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

1. Your earliest memory?

My earliest memory is a dance memory. I used to take dance lessons at the community center when I was young. I remember being at the bar and turning to the girl next to me, who's name was Lexi and thinking it was amazing that her name sounded like the car. (Lexi---Lexus) I asked her if she was named after the car. And then I went back to my bar exercises.
I generally don't remember things at all, especially from when I was younger, but this always stood out. I think it might be because I used to love dance when I was younger. I danced for about eleven years before I finally quit, so it had a big impact on me.

2. Favorite stuffed animal.

My favorite stuffed animal is not actually mine, but my younger brother's. It's this huge bear that's about half my size and is the fluffiest thing I've ever had the luck to feel. My brother calls it Blackie...because it is a black bear. Clearly my family is full of originality. Sometimes I steal Blackie so that I can sleep with him or use him as a stomach pillow. Do other people do that? Use stuffed animals as stomach pillows? X D

3. What is your guilty pleasure?

Does the JE fandom count as a guilty pleasure? Or does something that's taken over one's life not count as merely a guilty pleasure? X D I guess my entire lj is a guilty pleasure, because aside from two people I know in rl on my f-list, no one from rl knows anything about my lj or the fact that I slash boys on a hourly basis. I can kind of imagine my mom's reaction. "So you like boys...together?" "Uh huh." "Japanese boys?" "Yep." "Hmmm....is this connected to the boy whose name is Princess?" "Perhaps a little." "Are you undergoing an identity crisis? You can talk to me about this kind of stuff." When i attempted to explain my love for Princess, my mom thought that I had gone insane. I think those are the guiltiest of my pleasures!

4. If you could interview any one person, dead or alive or fictional, who would it be? What are some questions you would ask?

This is actually a hard question for me; I feel like there's so many people that I'd like to interview. My first impulse would be Jane Austen--but I think it's more that I'd want to meet Jane Austen and gush over her books than ask her serious questions. I think the person that I would most like to interview Theodore Roosevelt. I find him such an interesting person and I'd love to ask him what he thinks of the world today, as well as what he thinks of his legacy. I feel like this question merits interviewing someone shrouded in mystery and secrecy, but I can't quite think of anyone's secret that I'm burning to know.

5. What sort of music did you like before JE?

I'm terrible when it comes to find music and developing my own tastes. I tend to listen to anything my friends give me as long as it's not hard metal or rap. Which means that I have very eclectic and broad tastes. I've always been a fan of classic rock, and in high school I was a huge ska fan. I still have a soft spot for music with trumpets. I like rock, as well as things on the acoustic guitar. I also like a lot of classical music and jazz, depending on my mood. I also loved swing music. Oh! I loved French music. Although I wouldn't say my tastes have changed since I got into JE, they just got added to everything else that I like.

This is my last night in Budapest--sadly, I really loved it here. Although I have to say, two of the coolest things that have happened to me in Europe were directly related to the television X D
Tonight, my parents and I went to the pub for dinner and to watch whatever was on. We ended up watching from start to finish the SKI JUMP CHAMPIONSHIPS. Which were beyond amazing. These guys slide straight down, on skis, a vertical pathway before launching themselves off to see how far they can fly. AMAZING. The Austrians kicked ass, with the first and second place getting 143.5 m and 143 m, respectively, on their second jump. I was blown away. This may replace churling as my new favorite sport!
The second thing was equally as happy. I didn't even find it, my middle brother did. I was trying to download something before going to the pub and all of a sudden my middle brother calls from bed, "Is that Rui?" He was watching tv, AND THEY HAD HANA YORI DANGO ON. That's right. Hanadan is showing in Hungry. That's so kickass. It was the first episode second season, which I'd actually just watched with my youngest brother.
My middle brother isn't even into asian television X D, but he's seen parts of it so many times that he knew who Rui was! It was a proud moment for me.
