meme time!

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like. (Make sure you tell me if you want questions when you comment, because if you don't specify, I'm assuming you don't want any!)
2. I'll respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
Last night turned out to be movie night and I after I watched Imagine Me  & You, my roommate and I watched Pretty in Pink. Prior to last night, I hadn't watched Pretty in Pink in several years. I had completely forgotten that Andrew McCarthy is teh hot. *melts into puddle* But yet, I couldn't help but imagine all the characters as they relate to Hana Yori Dango! I'm soooooo sad. Anyways, I totally saw James Spader as being Domyouji, Andrew McCarthy being Rui and Molly Ringwald as Makino. I guess then the ending of Pretty in Pink would have to be changed in order to comply with Hanadan, but still, the characters are totally the same! I guess James Spader would have to be less sleazy and be a little more human, but I totally saw him as Domyouji. Maybe I'm just going insane. That's completely plausible.

THEN, my friend surprised me and came over...at midnight. Despite being so late, it was very exciting to see her! I love when people come over and surprise me. We ended up talking about ex-boyfriends and random girl things  before we wandered onto the topic of random movies. I started talking about how I'd just downloaded My Sassy Girl because I hadn't watched it in ages. <random tangent> My Sassy Girl was my first Korean film/drama/anything. Way before I'd even discovered the crack that is Full House, my good friend sat me down and had me watch My Sassy Girl. It changed my life. Ok, maybe that's a little exaggerated, but I definitely loved the film. Good times. </random tangent> My friend had never even heard of My Sassy Girl, so I talked her into watching the first 10 minutes or so. And she loved it! (score!) We only watched the first half, because we started at 1 in the morning and we both had classes to go to. But she made me promise that we'd finish watching it tonight. I hadn't seen the film in such a long time so that I forgot just how funny the film is. I worried that we'd actually wake up my roommate we were laughing so hard. And she was sleeping in her room with the door closed. X D
I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something amazingly enjoyable about watching an old favorite film with a good friend. It just feels so nice. And if you haven't seen  My Sassy Girl yet, (have you been hiding under a rock?), I highly encourage you to do so. Because it's just plain cracktastic.
On a slightly random note, I'm officially doing my last act of teenage rebellion tomorrow morning. I'm turning 20 in a little less than two months and I know that it sounds weird, but I'd like to freak my parents out one last time as a teenager. And so I'm finally going to do what I've been meaning to do for the past 5 years: dye my hair! I know that it sounds like a kind of wimpy rebellion and.... I'm totally there with you, but it's perfect for my parents. Or more specifically my mother, because my dad won't even care. Even though my mother dyes her hair, she's absolutely against me doing it to my hair. X D It's my first time having my hair dyed, so I'm kind of nervous, but really excited!

I've had a mostly computer free existence for the past couple days. Yep, it sucked. What was the reason for my experiment is masochism? Well, first, I had to get my hard drive removed. I'd actually filled up my entire hard drive, so with Junpei running on super slow speed, I figured that I'd just the hard drive removed, get a new one added, as well as get some more RAM. Everything went according to plan. Well, until the next day when my computer started restarting itself everytime I unplugged or replugged my battery. But my school does tech work for free if you bought a computer to the school. So, I suffered through it (saving my work often) until I could come back to school. When I returned the other day, I took it to the tech department. All this time my external hard drive had been working great for me. It was actually really awesome, because my computer worked at super speed, and yet I still had all of my shows and documents. UNTIL LAST NIGHT! My external hard drive stopped working completely.
For the past few days, I've been using the school computers when I absolutely couldn't handle not being on a computer. So, last night, I went to the computer lab to plug my drive in, but the computer didn't register my usb device. I tried again. Nothing. So I went into freak out mode. Finally, this morning, when I went to go get a loan computer, I asked the technician. He said that my hard drive crashed. So in order to get all of my stuff, I'll have to get someone to do data retrieval. To quote from HYD, "Arienatsu!"
I'm kind of a little emotional right now, lol. Junpei's being fixed ( maybe even replaced), all of my shows that I've downloaded are gone, and Hanadan's over. On the brightside, I transfered all of my music from the external hard drive to my new hard drive, and the technicican put that hard drive into the loan computer. And the last episode of Hanadan was awesome. (Btw, that part when Rui runs after Umi when she's trying to get away. I watched that 8 times. No joke. Because Rui looks so hot. guhhh....) I'm sorry for being such a lame person and not responding to anything for the past few days : P

My youngest brother had a bowling birthday party today and afterwards I decided to go to Mitsuwa, since it was in the neighborhood. I needed to stop by there before going back to school to stock up on provisions and this was a good opportunity. Mitsuwa is this chain of absolutely amazing Japanese grocery stores. One of my friends was at the party, and decided to come with me to Mitsuwa. It was her first time at Mitsuwa and she got so excited by all the amazing food and interesting shopping items! When we walked in however, Namie Amuro's "Baby Don't Cry," (from Himitsu no Hanazono) was playing. Now A hasn't seen any doramas, and she thought it was hilarious that I knew the song and so much about it. Then, to my delight, "Flavor of Life" came on, which of course only increased the hilarity. When I tried to explain to A, we both ended up laughing with everyone in the store just staring at us. All in all, a good trip.
My computer (who's name is Junpei, btw) decided to have a nervous breakdown last week, right before all of my homeworks/midterms, which almost lead to a nervous breakdown on my part. Yeah, sure, I was upset because now I couldn't use my computer to write any papers, but thing that made me really upset was the fact that I couldn't finish watching Goong S episode 9, the newest HYD episode and that I didn't have enough time to post or read lj entries. And let me say that my week is far less amusing without lj : P

On a random side note, I happened to start reading Alice 19th, and in the second volume, Alice is kissed by this random foreigner who wants to marry her. My first thought? If this was a dorama, she'd now be doomed destined to be with this guy forever. I was in Barnes and Noble and actually said "I recognize that sign! That means they'll be together forever!" Which caused everyone to look at me. But I sincerely hope that it isn't true, because I kind of want Alice to get together with someone else.

It's been an insane week...I can't believe that I haven't updated in so long! Maybe I'll break this post into a couple smaller ones so that I don't end up babling on about everything at once. So to start with, we have this past week's Hanadan episode.

I'm not going to do a full on spoilery review of episode 4 of HYD seson 2, but I will note a couple things. It's a little spoilery, so do read at your own risk.

1. This is definitely my favorite episode of the second season so far. This is probably for a variety of reasons, but my current favorite is the fact that Domyouji and Tsukushi were doing their arguing where Domyouji's trying to be all noncholant. And he's so not. *sigh of happiness*

2. Domyouji made several word errors throughout the episode. And he's returned to misunderstanding when people correct him, so he calls them stupid. (baka!) I have to say, I love how incredibly confident he is in his absolute correctness.

3. At one point, Domyouji totally reminded me of a rabbit. He was sitting in the hotel room while Shigeru was in the bathroom, and he just looked like a rabbit. Not actually a rabbit, but he was sitting there nervously and he looked ready to bolt. (Bolt! Bolt! Return to your proper owner!) I half expected his nose to twitch.

4. Akira, you little devil you! Akira totally is shipping Soujiro and Yuki. He and Soujiro left the hospital room to give Rui and Tsukushi some time alone. However, Yuki was still in the room, so Akira returned and got Yuki out by telling her that Soujiro wanted to see her.  *sigh of secondary otp happiness*

5. Domyouji falling on top of Tsukushi. EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

6. Domyouji attempting to be noncholant. It appears on this list twice, because really, it made me extremely happy. Especially when he was around Tsukushi. (Oh, I decided to be independent and move into an incredibly crappy building, even though I'm probably richer than Bill Gates, right when you did. What a weird coincidence!)
It just reminded me of the first season when he was following Tsukushi in his car and tried to play that off as a coincidence.

And last note, I promise:

7. I really like Rui, just not with Tsukushi, but I don't want him to be sad either. I really hope that he ends up with someone. Because he seems to be rather unfortunate in love. First Shizuka who was engaged and now Tsukushi.  Who had better end up with Domyouji.
Warning: really really really long review. I couldn't help it. I just got so into it. I heart Hana Yori Dango so much!
