So I had a super minor procedure done this past week, but I'm finally feeling back to normal. I found this old white linen jumper in my room that's extraordinarily big on me. Which is perfect because wearing baggy clothes is preferable at the moment. However people kept giving me odd looks all today while I was wearing this white jumper. It confused me until I got home and saw myself in a mirror and realized the sleeves were massively long and the jumper was really huge giving the impression that I am at best, an exceedingly eccentric painter wearing my smock around or I'm a really sedate mental patient.

But aside from clothing mishaps, I've been feeling less sore and tired. Which is really good because school starts up soon and I have to still study for lsats. As second semester gets closer and closer, I'm realizing just how much pain and suffering this semester will entail. I'm going for a b.s. in physics (why? because i've clearly decided i'm not going to physics grad school. So this will do absolutely nothing for me D : ) so I have about four more required classes and then I'm free!

Because I don't have any classes that I will be required to take next year, I've been contemplating the classes I would want to take next year. I really would like to take on another langauge--Japanese would be my first choice. But the department at my school is horrific. I took the first semester of Japanese at UCLA and it was absolutely fabulous. I loved the book, the teacher, and the program. But the program at my school is completely different--at UCLA after the first chapter anything that wasn't explanation was in hiragana or katakana, not romanji. But the book for my school was entirely in romanji and never even used hiragana. I also didn't like the teachers...but that's another story X D

I'm considering taking back up Middle Egyptian because I liked it so much--but it was a lot of work just for the intro class and the next level is graduate level. I guess I could always go with Spanish. Also, I'm going to take a creative writing class--which will actually be my first class writing papers in English that I've taken since high school. I'm really excited !

So on a completely random tangent, I'm finally getting around to watching Countdown and it's so hilarious and awesome. I love how incredibly ninja Ryo is and the Sunrise Nippon arashi/news song. Although I thought it was extremely funny how all of the little groups were hugging except  Shige and Ohno. Ohhh Shige the awkward is so endearing. And the Ryo/Jun hugging would have been even more awesome if Jun had taken off the glasses sooner.

I realized that I've fallen to a new low when Jun finally came out without the glasses and wearing the white ugly suit and the red flower and I almost sobbed in relief. "Ahhh finally something normal!" I said to myself.

I really to thank Kami ([personal profile] tinyangl) for posting two of my stories for me to korette. I love you so much for letting me be ridiculously lazy. How do you put up with me? *showers love*

Ok! Meme time! (taken from [profile] ilanabean42)

1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not. (I like collecting quotes, so if you give me a quote you like, that would be particularly cool.)
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions

Here are my responses to her questions:

1. If you could live anywhere in the world (ignoring language barriers and distance from family and friends), where would you want to live?
I guess it would be cheating to say everywhere, because I want to live everywhere that I can to experience as many places and cultures as possible. If I had to say one place, I think i would choose Paris because I really loved the city when I was there. I don't think i'd want to live there forever but I think it would be such an amazing place to live for a few years. Not to mention that they have the best bread in the world. Which would also be why I can't stay there forever--I'd get fat.

2. What (if anything) have you learned in school that made you stop and go “Wow, that’s really amazing”?
I think math, for me, has that kind of a feel. Especially Calc 1 and this past semester of Complex Analysis, a lot of people don't think there's any real world applications, but I'll learn something in my class and kind of realize how that applies to real life and it's so amazing when I see the connection. There was also this problem in my physics class last year, I think, where we figured out how microphones and speakers worked on a basic level. That's so cool to me. I'm also a really huge dork, so I pretty much love learning anything. One class that I constantly thought was amazing was middle egyptian because .... well....HIEROGLYPHICS. Ahahahha.

3. What would be your dream jdrama (including, if you feel like it, cast)?
Maybe because I'm not Japanese, but I would love to see a jdrama that had a main cast member who was foreign and not japanese. I mean, I've seen a lot of jdramas but generally characters who aren't Japanese, or asian, are restricted to those Japlish roles of the english professor or that stupid foreigner. I was so excited when Chiaki's rival in the Nodame special wasn't Japanese and yet wasn't a caricature. It was a first for me.
As for actual plot.....I really like those couples that bicker and start off hating each other. So that would be a key element. I suppose I can't replicate HYD, but in short I really like dramas where the girl is a strong character.
My brain refused to function for this actually and I kept thinking up kdrama like plots where an idol gets saddled by a foreigner with amnesia. Think about it! It could be awesome. She's this clueless foreigner who accidentally runs into arrogant idol one night and he's really rude to her and they get into a fight. She ends up falling and hitting her head and she goes unconscious and can't remember who she is. She also doesn't have id on her, so idol is forced to take responsibility for her. (I suppose it could be some regular business guy....but really? Is that as fun?) He can't believe he's taking her in, she's ungrateful, they fight a lot, and he has a "girlfriend" who he doesn't actually like but is together with for publicity that hates the girl. Romantic arguments and incriminating paparazzi pictures ensue.
The ever lovely [profile] bitofpixiedust thought of having an american guy at a Japanese university who pisses off the wrong crowd and gets bailed out by our strong female lead. He tries to find out who she is and then romantic and cultural hijinks ensue.  OR a business man and a female yakuza from different worlds meet....

But as great as those ideas are, I have to say my ultimate dream jdrama would have to be one that Lindsay dreamed up. And when Lindsay delivers, she really delivers. "Guy inadvertently saves girl from embarrassing social situation only for girl to find out at work that he's the new guy transferred from the New York Office. She wants to prove herself capable and cool to recover from her embarrassing incident and he falls in love with her independence. They go to karaoke and we sneak in an arashi song. He confesses but she says she can't love guys who don't dress like matsujun. He adopts pink and leopard print into his wardrobe. He keeps trying to get her attention and finally succeeds. The antagonist can be a stylish woman who wears four inch stilettos at all times and has a crocodile skin purse."

And whenever it gets too fluffy and cute? To quote Lindsay again "add the element of going back to america for instangst."

Please feel free to add suggestions in comments.

4. If you could meet any one of your LJ friends (who you haven’t already met) offline, who would you pick?
Hmmm this one is a little hard. Because I've met a lot of really cool people though lj. And I kind of want to meet them all. It probably sounds like I'm trying to get out of the question, and I am to a certain degree, because I don't think I could pick just one. DD :

5. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Well I would love to be an international lawyer (whenever i say international lawyer, I always am reminded of Shizuka DD : ) working mainly between France, Japan, and the United States, but I'm fairly certain that doesn't happen in real life.  I'd really like to be an international lawyer and get to travel the world and meet exciting people. I'm also kind of interested in intellectual property so I could see myself doing that as well. I'd like to envision myself as some kick ass lawyer, but we'll see how that plays out.
