Anna May Wong Appreciation Post

I should definitely be sleeping right now. Or at least outlining for my finals. Or perhaps even reading so that I can outline for my finals. But.....all of my teams lost today and I'm still smarting a little from the Caps loss yesterday, so something is in order. And what better way to feel happy than an Anna May Wong appreciation post! Well--more like an Anna May Wong picspam with appreciative comments. But who doesn't want a picspam of a kick-ass hollywood star?
So to begin with, here we have Anna May Wong, also known as Wong Liu Tsong:

Unf. I am kind of really in love with how awesome she is. I mean, she wanted to be an actress at a time in which Asians were largely portrayed by white actors in yellow paint and given only marginal roles. So what does Anna May do? She disobeys her dad, gets work as an extra, and within three years lands a leading role in a color remake of Madam Butterfly.
Yeah. She's pretty much a bamf. Let's have some more pictures.

Wow, you're saying. She is pretty awesome. But she looks so serious. Did she ever...smile or anything, you ask. YES! Photographic evidence follows.

She's so cute in this picture! I just want to give her a hug and a cookie.

Anna May also had some really fantastic clothing. I'm actually quite jealous. She makes me want to dress up and go to a roaring 20s party RIGHT NOW.

I, uh, am not quite sure what's on her head. But I will take one in every color.

*Ring ring* Hello? Yes, Anna May, your dress may look like it was made of a rug, but I would argue that you make that rug look like hot stuff. When I wear rug, it just looks like...rug.

I am not so certain that fur coats were a 1920s thing, but they seem very stylish, so I'm including them anyways.
And what's that? Anna May liked to go swimming (aka I have an excuse to show pictures of her in adorable bathing suits)?

And she liked puppies? (come on seriously, how can you not be in love with her at this point?)

She also co-starred with one of my other old hollywood actress film crushes, Marlene Dietrich, in Shanghai Express. Not to imply anything per se, but they have really fantastic sexual tension. (Actually, I per se state it. I may not-so-secretly ship it. Think about it! They're both incredibly talented, sexy, empowered women. And they're really hot together--yes, I am aware that I am quite shallow LOL )

I still have about a million more photos of Anna May, but I have to sleep at some point, so I'll leave you with some random adorable stills as well as a few candids.

But seriously. But seriously. I have nothing left to say.
Oh wait! GIFS! Have some Anna May gifs! *sprinkles them upon you*
